Biography

Patrick Maurer

I suffer from cerebral palsy since birth. After kindergarten, I spent a few years at the German school in Geneva before going to La Cassagne, a school in Lausanne for people with disabilities. I speak German and French.

From there I went to work in the sheltered workshops of the Pre-Alps (BMP). There we create and print posters, leaflets, brochures, annual reports, logos and postcards. We also digitize 8mm films, video and audio cassettes as well as vinyls, slides, negatives and archive documents.

I practice mono-skiing, play wheelchair tennis and Rafroball. I started sailing at an early age and have been a member of the sailability.ch association since 2007. I have already participated in many regattas.

Christian Hiller

It is said that I was born on the open sea. Passionate about sailing and music, I studied at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern and play trombone in various bands.

I have been organising camps for several years, notably with Disabled Sports Switzerland (PluSport) and I am one of the founding members of Sailability.ch. Since 2010, I have been working as a sailing instructor for the association. I am a sports instructor for people with disabilities and have completed a J&S (Swiss foundation to promote the practice of sport among young people) sailing instructor training.

Musician in winter, sailor in summer, I’m always up for new adventures!
